Cooking with Riley

Last week, Parade magazine (from the Sunday paper) had several "back-to-school" pancake recipes.  Since Riley likes pancakes, I thought he might like to try some new versions.  So, one night after work and after Riley had eaten dinner, we whipped up some "Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Dessert Pancakes" together.

Cooking is not only a good way to introduce kids to new foods, but it's also a great way to start teaching them about math and chemistry.

Riley helps me by adding the ingredients and mixing them together.

Here's our finished product!

Riley tries everything we make.  I think he liked the idea of these pancakes better than the actual thing.  I tried them too, and I thought they were pretty good.

This week, we are going to make "Spiced Carrot Side-Dish Pancakes."
