Early Morning In Oldtown

Since many of our farflung friends and relatives have not had or may not have a chance to see where we live, I like to post pictures from our town every once in a while. This picture of daybreak on Myrtle Street in Oldtown Monrovia (Main Street, as it were) is borrowed from Gem City Images - one of my favorite local blogs, as those of you who read this blog may have already noticed.

Monrovia was established in 1887 and is the fourth oldest general law city in LA County. Here are some other pictures of the City I found on Wikipedia:

Although some say Monrovia is the true birthplace of McDonald's, its claim to fame should be the levitating flag which hung over the city in 1892.
